Ildo Gama is a Brazilian musician from Rio de Janeiro, born in 1962. He started performing in the early 1980s with a band called Banda do Ildão. His music draws from samba, funk, and rock, delivered with a raw vocal style that became his trademark.
In 1993, he released the song "Correndo Pelado," which quickly became his most famous track. Despite the backlash, the song's popularity established Gama as a provocative figure in Brazilian music.
He has recorded other songs like "Minha Loucura É Você," "Apimentado," and "Doce Tentação," and released albums including "Se Quiser Saber" in 1995 and "O Gigante" in 2001. His live album "Ao Vivo no Circo Voador" came out in 2003.
