ILISH D formed in Bogotá in 2014 around Samuel Javier Aguirre and Juan Pablo Acosta, who were later joined by drummer Juan David Valencia and bassist Santiago Buitrago. They started playing small venues around the city, trying to find their place in a crowded scene.
Things changed for them in 2017 with the release of "¿Cómo Le Digo?" The song caught on in Colombia and helped push them toward a wider audience. They followed it with two albums, "Índigo" in 2019 and "Origen" in 2021.
In 2020, the band faced some trouble when their song "Como Tú" was accused of sounding too similar to another track.
