Archive material and source history
Illionaire Records started in 2011 as an independent hip-hop label in Seoul, founded by producer Dok2 and rapper Beenzino. They wanted a space to work without the usual industry constraints, though money was tight at first and not everyone took them seriously.
Things changed in 2014 when they put out 'YGGR,' a track with Dok2, Beenzino, and The Quiett. That song caught on and gave the label some real momentum. After that, they released other material like Dok2's '111%' and Beenzino's 'Up All Night.'
Dok2 handles a lot of the production and has a direct, aggressive style, while Beenzino's approach is smoother and more melodic. The Quiett, another figure from Seoul's underground scene, has been involved with many of their tracks. They've also worked with artists like Tablo from Epik High, Crush, and punchnello.
