Illnath

Illnath formed in Oslo in 2004, originally as a trio with vocalist and guitarist Adrian Erlandsson, bassist Christian Lundqvist, and drummer Kenneth Eikum. They put out their first album, 'Constellatia,' in 2009, which set up their atmospheric take on black metal. Later records like 'Preacher of Death' and 'The Silent Grief' followed in 2011 and 2015.

Their songs often work with dark, introspective themes. You can hear it in tracks like 'Never Again,' 'She, the Plague,' or 'The Blood Is The Almighty Sin.' The music tends to balance harsh textures with melodic passages, avoiding straightforward aggression for something more layered.

They've kept a fairly steady output without much mainstream noise, which suits the style. The focus has stayed on the albums themselves rather than building a public narrative around the band.
