Iloilo formed in 2005 in Iloilo City, Philippines, with Arnie Naldoza on vocals and guitar, Dino Latora on lead guitar, Jovit Baldoza on bass, and Marlo Calvario on drums. They started playing rock and alternative music together, working out their sound through local jam sessions and shows.
Their 2007 single "Roll" caught on quickly, becoming a hit that brought them wider attention. They followed it with songs like "Araw-Araw" and "Ako Naman," and released their first album, "Silaw," in 2009. The record showed them moving between rock tracks and slower ballads.
Bassist Jovit Baldoza left the band in 2012, and they brought in a replacement. They kept recording, putting out albums like "Ulan" in 2013, "Ikaw Na" in 2017, and "Epilogue" in 2020.
