Archive material and source history
IMAscore formed in Prague around 2002 as a musical collective. Their work blends classical and electronic elements, often described as cinematic or haunting. The group includes composers and arrangers like Ondřej Brzobohatý, Lukáš Sommer, and Tomáš Polák, with Jana Věbrová contributing vocals.
They released their debut album "Chamberlain" in 2003. A few years later, "Andrew's Song" came out in 2006 and became one of their better-known tracks. The album "Illusion" followed in 2008, and in 2010 they collaborated with Italian composer Paolo Buonvino on "The Solitude of Prime Numbers."
Their music has found an audience internationally, though early on some traditional circles weren't sure what to make of their hybrid style. They've kept at it, working across albums that often aim for an evocative, atmospheric sound.
