In Nomine Belialis came out of the Brazilian underground playing a heavy mix of black and death metal. Their 2005 album "Nefasto e o Caminho da Profanação" gave them a reputation for extreme sound and themes that challenged religious conventions.
Their lyrics often dealt with anti-religious subjects, which brought them into conflict with conservative groups. Songs like "A noite do eterno pavor" and "Entre a Névoa e As Chamas" carried that confrontational energy forward through their catalog.
The band maintained a consistent lineup with Lord Diabolus Rex on vocals, Infernus on guitar, Belial on bass, and Desmodus on drums. They followed their 2005 album with "Plague" in 2009 and "Arcane Demonic Cult" in 2015, touring through Europe and South America along the way.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
