Infecção Raivosa started in São Paulo in 1992, playing hardcore punk with a raw, aggressive edge. Their debut album 'Onde Os Fracos Não Tem Vez' came out in 1998, and the title track became something of an anthem in Brazilian hardcore circles. Songs like 'Tributo a uma sociedade perdida' and 'Religião do Cão' show their confrontational approach to lyrics about social issues.
The band's lineup has shifted around founding members Sidão on vocals, Bezão on bass, and Rodrigo on guitar, with Bruno currently playing drums. They've toured Brazil and played shows abroad, building a following for their intense live performances. Their music pulls from punk and metal, but stays grounded in that São Paulo hardcore sound.
Over seven albums, they've kept writing about political corruption and inequality without softening their stance. This has sometimes put them at odds with authorities, facing censorship and occasional legal trouble.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
