Archive material and source history
Inme formed in Wiltshire in the late 1990s with Dave McPherson on vocals, Simon Taylor on guitar, Joe Morgan on bass, and Dave Felton on drums. Their debut album 'Overgrown' came out in 2003, establishing their atmospheric alternative rock sound. Songs like 'Far-Reaching' and 'Myths & Photographs' from that period show their preference for layered arrangements and introspective lyrics.
In 2004, the single 'FireFly' became their most recognizable track, with McPherson's vocals carrying its haunting melody. The band maintained a steady output through the mid-2000s, working on material that would become songs like 'Papillon's Stalemate' and 'Safe In A Room.'
McPherson left Inme in 2006, and Greg Haver joined as the new vocalist. The band continued writing and recording with this lineup, eventually releasing 'Toast To Broken Glass' among other tracks in their later catalog.
