Instruction was a British punk band active in the early 1980s. They released several albums including '3 Stops Short of Dagenham' in 1981, 'Revenge of the Underdog' in 1982, and 'This is Where We Are' in 1983. Their lineup included John "JJ" Burnel on vocals and bass, Mark Brzezicki on drums, and Phil Rhodes on guitar.
Their song 'Breakdown' appears among their most recognized tracks, along with 'Great' and the provocatively titled 'God doesn´t care if we blow up the fucking world.' The band's music often addressed social themes with a direct, unpolished approach typical of the era's punk scene.
They faced some criticism and occasional censorship for their lyrics and aesthetic, which challenged conventional norms. Instruction's final studio album was 'Nine Lives' in 1986, after which their recorded output ceased.
