Intervals formed in Toronto in 2011, with Aaron Marshall on guitar and vocals, Nick DePirro on guitar, Cameron McLellan on bass, and Nathan Bulla on drums. They started by putting out music online, mixing metal with some jazz elements. Their first album, 'A Voice Within,' came out in 2014 and included the track 'Siren Sound.'
Marshall left the band in 2015, and Mike Semesky came in as the new vocalist. They kept recording, putting out 'The Shape of Colour' in 2017 and 'Circadian' in 2019. Their songs like 'Atlas Hour' and 'Automaton' show their instrumental style, built around detailed guitar work and shifting rhythms.
