Iraida formed in Mexico City in 2004 when vocalist Iraida Noriega and guitarist Javier Reyes started playing together. Their debut album came out in 2007, followed by others like 'Contigo' in 2009 and 'Soy Libre' in 2011.
The band includes Noriega on vocals, Reyes on guitar, Sergio Vallín on bass, and Juan Carlos Ramírez on drums. They're known for a rock sound with pop elements, and their song 'Supernova' became one of their most recognized tracks.
Iraida's early work faced some skepticism from parts of the music industry, but they kept recording and playing. Their music, including the 2007 single 'Tu Me Quieres Más,' found an audience on Mexican radio.
