Iron Maiden

Iron Maiden formed in London during the late 1970s. Their early work, like the self-titled track 'Iron Maiden,' established a sound built on twin guitar harmonies and theatrical themes. Bruce Dickinson joined as vocalist in 1981, bringing a more operatic range to songs such as 'Flight Of Icarus' and 'Powerslave.'

Their 1982 album 'The Number of the Beast' became a landmark release, though its title track and imagery drew accusations of promoting Satanism from some conservative groups. They explored longer, narrative-driven compositions like 'Rime Of The Ancient Mariner,' which stretched over thirteen minutes.

By the late 1980s, albums like 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son' incorporated more progressive and atmospheric elements. The lineup has seen changes, but guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers have been central alongside Dickinson for much of the band's run. Their stage shows grew increasingly elaborate, featuring mascot Eddie in various guises.

Later albums, including 'Dance Of Death' and songs like 'Blood Brothers' and 'Tears of a Clown,' showed the band continuing to write new material rather than relying solely on early hits. They've maintained a loyal global fanbase drawn to the consistent, riff-heavy style developed decades ago.
