Isidoro Pilsen formed in Curitiba in the early 2000s. Their song 'Procurando Graça' came out in 2004 and found a national audience. The band's sound pulls from rock, reggae, and Brazilian folk, with lyrics that often touch on love, loss, and social themes.
They've released several albums, including 'O Futuro Não Existe' in 2006 and 'Verdadeiro' in 2013. Another track, 'Otário,' is among their most popular songs. The current lineup includes Afonso Cappeloza on vocals and guitar, Marcelo Galvão on bass, William Piancastelli on drums, Beto Spoldi on guitar, and Dudu Mendes on keyboards.
Some critics questioned aspects of their sound early on, and the band saw some member changes. They kept touring and built a following with straightforward, earnest performances.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
