Ismael Gotthardi came out of São Paulo with a band that shared his name. Their song 'Então Desce' got attention for mixing funk, hip-hop, and samba rhythms, though its lyrics about police brutality and inequality drew some criticism at the time.
They followed that with another track called 'Treme o Rabetão' and put out albums like 'Caminho de Volta' and 'Pela Paz.' Those records brought in sounds from rock and soul, and sometimes Afrobeat. The band's lineup included guitarists Bruno Suzuki and Flavio Souza.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
