Ismael Guimarães IGm came out of São Paulo in the early 2000s, starting as a solo project. The track that really put them on the map was 'Chupa o Picolé,' which came out in 2013 and caught on quickly across Brazil.
Their sound pulls from samba, funk, hip-hop, and pop, heard on albums like their self-titled debut from 2014, 'Ritual' in 2016, and 'Tempo Real' in 2020. Other songs like 'CARRO MULHER e BEBIDA' and 'Mês de Setembro' show that same mix of styles.
While the lineup has shifted over time, Ismael Guimarães has been the consistent presence.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
