Isofônicos formed in São Paulo around 2010 with Gabriel Thomaz on vocals and guitar, Renan Cruz on bass, and Lucas Silveira on drums. Their first EP, 'O Que Eu Sinto,' came out in 2015 and included the song 'A Nova Amiga da História,' which got some attention for its moody, questioning tone.
They've put out a few more records since then, like the albums 'O Fim da História' in 2017 and 'Ruído Branco' in 2019, followed by the EP 'Ponto Zero' in 2021. Their sound pulls from grunge and post-punk, with some electronic textures mixed in. Other tracks like 'Be Suicide' and 'Dúvida' show a similar preference for brooding, guitar-driven atmospheres.
Some listeners have found their approach too experimental or pointed, but they've kept at it without much fuss. They're still based in São Paulo, working on their own terms.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
