Issac Delgado

Issac Delgado was born in Havana, Cuba in 1962. He started singing in local choirs and got involved with Havana's salsa scene early on. In 1986, he joined NG La Banda, a group that was already making waves in Cuban music. With them, he recorded albums like "Échale Limón" and "En El Monte," which helped build his reputation as a vocalist.

He went solo in 1991 with the album "Dando la Hora." The track "Adán y Eva" from that record became one of his most recognizable songs. Other tracks like "Dime Cual Es" and "Que Puedo Yo" also became staples in his live sets. Over the next decade, his sound shifted a bit, pulling in touches of jazz and R&B while keeping a salsa foundation.

In 1993, there was an incident in Miami where Delgado was accused of assaulting a police officer. The charges were dropped, but it was a public moment that followed him for a while. He kept recording through the '90s and early 2000s, putting out albums like "El Tiempo Pasa" and "Con Ganas." His voice remained the center of his music, whether he was singing older material like "Cantame Como Ayer" or newer arrangements.
