ITD Bend formed in Split, Croatia in 1983, with Zeljko Bebek and Davor Gobac starting the group. The name comes from the Croatian phrase "I Tebe Dragi," which means "And You, My Dear." They played a mix of folk, rock, and pop that connected with audiences across Yugoslavia.
Their 1985 song "Drazesna Meri" became a major hit, a ballad about lost love that was translated into several languages and covered by other artists. Other songs like "Elena," "Gledam kroz prozor," and "Osvajam Beograd" also became part of their catalog. Zeljko Bebek left the band in 1991 to work on solo projects.
The group kept performing and recording with members including Davor Gobac, Vlatko Stefanovski, and Borislav Milat. Their music has appeared in films and television in the region.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
