Yukari Ito was born in Tokyo in 1967. She joined the talent agency Oscar Promotion as a teenager and began working as an artist.
Her breakthrough came in 1986 with the single "Koi no Shizuku." The song reached the top of Japanese music charts and became her most recognized work.
In the early 1990s, she experienced vocal cord problems that affected her singing career. She later married actor Yoshikazu Ebisu in 1997, though the marriage ended in divorce a few years after.
Her discography includes albums like "Hatsukoi" from 1986, "Honki da yo" from 1988, and "Kokoro" from 2016. She has worked with musicians including Takao Tajima and Tatsuya Nishiwaki.
