Itowokashi formed in Tokyo in 2006 around vocalist and guitarist Hiroki Moriyama, bassist Satoshi Mikami, and drummer Mitsuru Watanabe. They put out their first album, 'Kimi ga Inai Mirai,' in 2008.
Their 2011 single 'Aoi Honoo' became a major hit in Japan. That same year they released the album 'Sora no Uta.' Other songs like 'Kanadeai' and 'Yadoriboshi' followed.
The band went on hiatus in 2014 due to Moriyama's health issues. They returned in 2017 with the album 'Arui wa Ashita.'
