Ivan Moreno was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1936 and grew up around music. His father was a samba composer, and the city's street culture shaped his early years. He started performing in the 1950s with Os Cariocas before forming his own group, Ivan Moreno e Seu Conjunto.
In 1962, Moreno released his debut album 'Sou a Terra de Ismael,' with the title track becoming a hit.
His band included guitarist Dino 7 Cordas, bassist Beto Cazes, and drummer Marçal. Moreno recorded more than thirty albums, including 'A Dor e a Glória' in 1972 and 'Samba Brasil' in 1985.
