Ivory Tower formed in Los Angeles in 2004 with Alex Grossi on vocals and guitar, Jason Mercury on bass, and Matt Wicklund on drums. They released their debut album 'Awakening' in 2006, which got some attention but didn't break through. Their second album 'Alive' came out in 2009, and the title track became their biggest hit, reaching the top 10 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
In 2011, the band faced plagiarism accusations over their song 'Forever,' which caused some trouble for them at the time. They kept going and put out 'The Architect' in 2013 and 'The Vigil' in 2016, albums that showed them trying different sounds while keeping their melodic approach. Other songs from their catalog include 'Foreboding,' 'One Life In Asia,' and 'Flight Into The Self.'
They released one more album, 'Redemption,' in 2019. Their music mixed rock, alternative, and electronic elements, and they worked together for about a decade before stopping.
