IVS formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2015 with Kadu Colombo on vocals, Leandro Lima on guitar, Wildimar Andrade on bass, and Bruno Lopes on drums. They started playing small underground venues while developing their sound.
Their song "Ensino Médio" drew attention for its direct lyrics about teenage pregnancy and abortion, which some conservative groups criticized. The band released three albums: their self-titled debut in 2017, "Praia dos Ossos" in 2019, and "Como o Nosso Sangue" in 2021.
IVS built a following in Brazil's indie rock scene through their live shows and recordings that mixed rock with some electronic touches. Colombo's lyrics often dealt with social issues and personal experiences.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
