Ivyan formed in Concord, California around 2006, with Ryan Prosser on guitar and vocals, Adam Katzman on bass, and Greg Stutler on drums. They put out their debut album 'Protector' in 2010, which included the title track that became something of an anthem for them.
After Stutler left in 2012, Chris Haney joined as the band's drummer.
