Izmália formed in Warsaw in 2011 around vocalist and songwriter Joanna Klepko. Their sound pulls from post-punk and dream pop, with Klepko's voice giving it an atmospheric, introspective quality.
Their 2014 debut album 'Mono' included the track 'Monogamia,' which became their most recognizable song. They followed it with albums like 'Zmiana' in 2016 and 'Oczyszczenie' in 2020.
Alongside Klepko, the band's core has included guitarist Rafał Łuc and drummer Michał Zabłocki. They've worked with other artists, including Mark Lanegan on a track called 'Złączone.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
