J Hus is Momodou Jallow, born in 1994. He came up in East London, where he was around West African rhythms at home and the garage and grime sounds in his neighborhood. He dropped out of school at 16.

His 2015 single "Dem Boy Paigon" broke through, and he put out his debut album "Common Sense" in 2017. That record won the Mercury Prize. Songs like "Did You See" and "Bouff Daddy" show his mix of Afrobeats, hip-hop, and rap, delivered with a streetwise edge.

In 2020 he released a second album called "Big Conspiracy." His career has been marked by some public incidents, including arrests, which have sparked conversations about violence in music. He works as a solo artist.
