J4mpa formed in São Paulo in 2013 around vocalist Thiago Stance, guitarist Theo Cecchini, and bassist Pedro Campos. Their debut single, 'Teu Abraço É Como Um Por do Sol Em Dias Tristes,' found an audience quickly, pulling the group into wider notice. The song's title, which translates to 'Your Embrace is Like a Sunset on a Sad Day,' gives a fair sense of their lyrical territory.

Their music often sits between indie pop and folk, with lyrics that lean into introspection.
