JAA formed in 1998 as a trio of established Brazilian artists: vocalist and guitarist Jair Oliveira (Jairzinho), singer-songwriter Ana Carolina, and poet-musician Arnaldo Antunes. Their debut album 'Infinito Particular' came out that same year and included their cover of Kid Abelha's 'Como Eu Quero,' which became one of their best-known songs. The group's sound pulled from pop, rock, and samba, but it was really the combination of three distinct voices that gave their music its particular texture.

They kept releasing albums every few years, including 'Nação' in 2002, 'Tudo o Que Você Podia Ser' in 2005, and 'Fico Assim Sem Você' in 2009. They eventually resumed work and put out 'Cinco' in 2014 and 'Tudo Que É Só' in 2018.

Other tracks like 'Secret From Me,' 'Fame,' and 'Nobody Gonna Love Me Better' show the band's range, moving between intimate acoustic moments and more polished pop arrangements. The collaboration remained stable, Jairzinho handling vocals and guitar, Ana Carolina contributing her distinctive singing and songwriting, and Arnaldo Antunes bringing his poetic and experimental approach to lyrics and sound.
