Jabberwocky took their name from Lewis Carroll's nonsense poem. The band's debut album came out in 1994, and its lead single "Photomaton" became something of a cult favorite. Their sound had a hazy, drifting quality that drew from shoegaze and post-punk, with Marcus Bell's vocals floating over shimmering guitars.
They released a few more records after that, including 1997's "When the World Is Quiet" and 2002's "Forgotten City." The lineup included Jason Moulthrop on guitar, Andy Morten on bass, and Gavin Laird on drums. Another track people remember is "In My Head." Their music never really broke through to a wide audience, but it found its listeners.
