Jack Pinheiro came from Salvador, Brazil, and his music drew on samba and bossa nova. In the late 1970s, he wrote "Quem Será Esse Homem?", a song whose title translates to "Who Will This Man Be" and whose melody stuck with listeners. That track became his most recognized piece, appearing alongside others like "Sou o Primeiro a Chegar" and "A Glória de Deus" in his catalog.
In the early 1980s, Pinheiro faced plagiarism accusations related to "Quem Será Esse Homem?", which led him to step back from public view for a while. He returned to recording by the mid-1980s, putting out albums such as "Samba e Bossa" in 1986 and "O Enigmático Jack Pinheiro" in 1989. These records mixed Brazilian rhythms with more contemporary sounds.
Pinheiro worked with musicians like João Gilberto and Caetano Veloso, and his backing band was called Os Incríveis. His later albums included "Canções do Brasil" in 1992 and "Bossa Nova Jazz" in 1995.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
