Jack Van Raamsdonk

Jack Van Raamsdonk was a Dutch singer-songwriter born in Breda in 1943. His father was an accordionist, and that early exposure to music stuck with him. In the late 1960s, he joined the folk group The Ramses Shaffy Singers as their primary songwriter.

He wrote 'Al Word Ik Dan Wat Ouder' in 1968, and that song became his most recognizable work. It's a ballad about growing older that connected with a wide audience. Other songs like 'Blijf Lekker Dromen' and 'Een Boeketje Rode Rozen' show his range from hopeful to sentimental.

Van Raamsdonk worked with other Dutch artists including Ramses Shaffy, Boudewijn de Groot, and Jules Deelder. He released albums across several decades, with titles like 'November' in 1972 and 'Van Liefde En Leven' in 2003. He died in 2010.
