His debut album came out in 1997, featuring the song "Tu És Meu Respirar," which became widely known. Other songs like "Dependente" and "Dia De Sol" also appear among his popular tracks.
He released several albums in the following years, including "Meu Anjo Azul" in 1999 and "Alma Cigana" in 2001. He has worked with musicians like guitarist Marcos Pinto and keyboardist Sebastião dos Santos, and has recorded duets with artists including Alceu Valença and Elba Ramalho.
In 2003, there were allegations of plagiarism regarding "Tu És Meu Respirar," though they were eventually dismissed. Pereira has also spoken publicly about dealing with depression and alcoholism.
