Jaffar Bambirra formed in the late 1990s in Salvador, Bahia, with Ellen Oléria as vocalist and songwriter. Their debut album 'Quando Fui Seu Par' came out in 2004, and its title track became a hit in Brazil. They've released five studio albums, including 'Além do Mar' in 2006 and 'Tropicália 3.0' in 2008.
Their songs like 'Mostarda' and 'Bonita' blend reggae with pop and rock. In 2014, Oléria left the band, and Marcela Bellas took over as vocalist. They kept recording after that, putting out 'Flor de Lótus' in 2012 and 'Filhos de Jah' in 2016.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
