A steady, riff-heavy American metal band that's been at it since the early '80s.
For their sound, 'Legion Immortal' and 'Cold' give you the idea. If you want to hear where they started, 'Ample Destruction' is the one.
They've been making straight-ahead heavy metal since 1981, with songs like 'Legion Immortal' showing their mix of heavy riffs and melodic touches. Their debut 'Ample Destruction' from 1984 got some attention for that sound, and they've kept putting out records fairly steadily since. They're not especially famous, but they've got a loyal following and songs like 'Black' even stirred up some controversy in the late '80s.
Formed in Colorado Springs in 1981 by guitarist Mark Briody and drummer Rikard Stjernquist. They've had lineup changes over time, but Briody and Stjernquist have been there from the start, with vocalist Harry Conklin handling most of their material. They're still a working metal band these days, with records like 'Thane to the Throne' in 2000 and 'The Scourge of the Light' in 2011.
