Jaguares formed in the late 1990s when Saúl Hernández, who had previously been in Caifanes, started working with a new group of musicians. The band included Alfonso André on guitar, Cesar López on bass, and Federico Fong on drums. Their first album, 'Cuatro Caminos,' came out in 1999.
Some listeners who knew Hernández from Caifanes weren't sure about the new direction at first. The band kept going anyway, and songs like 'Invisible' and 'Miedo' found an audience. They put out several more records, including 'Bajo el Azul de Tu Misterio' in 2001 and 'Crónicas de un Laberinto' in 2005.
Jaguares stopped playing together around 2010. Their music, including tracks like 'Te Lo Pido Por Favor' and '¿Adonde Vamos A Ir?', is still part of the conversation in Mexican rock.
