Jai formed in 1992 around singer-songwriter Jowee Ocampo, with Ronald "Tata" San Diego on keyboards, Elmer "Elmo" San Diego on drums, and John Carpio on guitar. Their debut album "Huwag Mo Lang Akong Iwan" came out the following year in 1993.
Their sound drew from folk-pop and acoustic influences, with a song like "Tulog Na, Mahal Ko" becoming one of their better-known tracks. The band's name comes from a Sanskrit word meaning victory.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
