Jakob Sveistrup is a Danish musician who leads a band under his own name. The group formed around 2006 with Niels Kirk on guitar, Jesper Rasmussen on bass, and Morten Larsen on drums. Their debut album 'Symphony for the Heartbroken' came out in 2008.
Their song 'Hospital Song' from 2012 became particularly well-known, with its direct lyrics about hospital visits and vulnerability. Other tracks like 'A Desert Flower' and 'A Love From Outer Space' show a similar focus on emotional themes.
In 2015, there was some discussion about similarities between material on their album 'The End of All Things' and another artist's work. Sveistrup addressed it without admitting intentional copying. The band has continued releasing music since then, including 'Exiles of the Heart' in 2018 and 'Into the Grey' in 2021.
