Janes Nascimento

Janes Nascimento came out of Fortaleza in Ceará, with Jane Santana and her sister Tatiane Nascimento singing together from a young age. They started with limited resources but kept at it, eventually putting out their first album 'Eu Sou o Que Sou' in 2007. That record included 'Eu Subirei,' a song that caught on with listeners and helped them find a wider audience.

Their music leans into Brazilian gospel sounds, with tracks like 'Cristo Está Comigo' and 'Não Negue a Fé' showing their straightforward, faith-centered approach. They've released other albums over time, including 'Além do Céu' in 2009 and 'Infinito' in 2015, but haven't chased much crossover appeal beyond their core listeners.

At one point they faced some legal trouble over a song called 'Teu Amor' that was said to resemble another artist's work, which got settled out of court. The group has seen different musicians come through, with Bruno Nascimento on guitar and Fábio Oliveira on bass at various points, but Jane and Tatiane have remained the consistent voices.
