The group's breakthrough came with the 2005 single "Black and White Movie" from their album "Maestro." That song's haunting lyrics and driving rhythm became one of their most recognizable tracks.
With Kaizers Orchestra, Ottesen has released eight studio albums including "Ompa Til Du Dør" in 2001, "Evig Pint" in 2003, and more recent entries like "Violeta Violeta Vol. III" in 2021. Other songs in his catalog include "De Fire Små Endene," "Det Var Du Som Kom," and "Drømmereise (Dagen Var Lang)."
He has collaborated with artists like Norwegian singer-songwriter Ingrid Olava and German classical pianist Martin Fröst. The current Kaizers Orchestra lineup includes Geir Zahl on guitar and vocals, Terje Vigen on bass, Rune Solheim on drums, and several horn players.
