After Swans disbanded, she began releasing solo work in the late 1990s. Her 1997 album 'Anhedonia' included the song 'A Man Of Hate (Lord Misery)', which drew attention for its distorted vocal approach. She has also worked with musicians like Stephen O'Malley and Blixa Bargeld.
