Jasmine Tompson

Jasmine Thompson started posting covers on YouTube in 2012, when she was still a teenager in London. Her version of 'Fidelity' came out in 2014 and got a lot of attention online, eventually racking up streams in the billions. That song is a sparse, piano-driven ballad about a relationship that isn't working, and her voice on it is clear and direct without much studio trickery.

She's worked with a few other artists since then, including the producer Mark Ralph and the electronic act Clean Bandit. Most of her recordings keep things fairly simple, built around her voice and straightforward arrangements. She's talked openly about dealing with anxiety, which put a more personal frame around some of her later songs.
