Javiera Riquelme grew up in Santiago with music around her, learning traditional Chilean folk songs from an early age. She released her first album, 'Canto al Sur,' in 1999. Her song 'Rinconcito Mío' came out in 2005 and became popular in Chile.
She has worked with guitarist Roberto Rubilar, who has been part of her music for some time. Her albums include 'Entre la tierra y el cielo' from 2001 and 'Dulce Patria' from 2012.
In 2008, there was some public discussion about plagiarism claims, but she kept making music. She performed at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago in 2016.
