Jaysant came together in the early 2000s as a quartet from Rio de Janeiro, with Juliano Barreto on vocals and guitar, Pedro Garcia on bass, Rafael Reis on drums, and Bruno Cruz on keyboards. They signed with EMI in 2004 and put out their debut album, which shared its name with the track 'Sem Jeito.' That song caught on quickly, becoming their most recognizable piece.
After the debut, the group released three more studio albums: 'Correnteza' in 2006, 'Pra Sempre' in 2008, and 'Energia' in 2010. Their sound pulled from pop, rock, reggae, and samba, though the lineup shifted over time. Cruz left in 2007, Garcia in 2011, and new members like guitarist Lucas Farias joined Barreto and Reis.
