Jean Claude Pascal

Jean Claude Pascal was a French singer born in Paris in 1927. He started as a classical violinist before moving into pop music in the 1950s. His most famous recording is "Chanson Sur Une Seul Note," a song built around a single note that he worked on with composer Jean-Jacques Debout.

That song drew mixed reactions when it came out, with some critics calling it too simple. But it became a hit anyway and remains what he's best known for. He recorded several albums through the 1960s and 1970s, including "L'Âme des Poètes" in 1963 and "Le Temps des Cerises" in 1974.

Pascal worked with other composers like Michel Legrand and Francis Lai over time. He performed as a solo artist without a permanent band.
