Jeann e Julio formed in 1994 after meeting at a music festival in the early 1990s. Their debut album "Choro, Imploro" came out in 1997, with the title track becoming known as a ballad about unrequited love. The album drew some attention for its explicit lyrics and themes.
In 1999, they faced a legal dispute over accusations of plagiarizing a traditional Brazilian song. They released another album called "Bombom" in 2001. Songs like "Amor e Sacanagem" and "É Cara De Pau" are among their better-known tracks.
Their music sometimes blended classical, folk, and electronic elements. They were known for being outspoken about certain topics, which occasionally drew criticism from conservative groups.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
