Archive material and source history
Jeannette was a freestyle trio from the Bronx that formed in the mid-1980s. The group featured Jeannette Jurado on lead vocals, with Sharon Lee and Patty Lopez providing backup. Their 1988 single 'Latin Lover' became a club staple, mixing Latin rhythms with the electronic beats popular in urban dance music at the time.
They released a few more singles after that, including 'Where the Boys At' and 'When the Morning Comes,' but their 1990 album 'Sweetest Day' didn't catch on the same way. The group broke up in 1992, not long after that album came out.
