Jeans Band formed in São Paulo in 1984. The group included Ricardo Bonfá on drums, Tatá Aeroplano on bass, Pedro Leão on guitars, and Xande Melo handling vocals. Their first album, simply called 'Jeans,' came out the following year.
They put out a string of records through the late '80s and '90s, eventually releasing 11 studio albums in total. Songs like 'Desde Meu Interior' and the title track 'Jeans' became staples for their fans. At one point in the mid-1990s, they started working electronic sounds into their arrangements, which didn't sit well with everyone who'd been following them.
They kept recording and playing shows, though the lineup details after those early years get a bit sparse. The music itself, those melodic basslines, Leão's guitar work, Melo's voice, remained the thing people showed up for.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
