Archive material and source history
Jeb Million came together in the late 1960s, with Jebediah Mason handling vocals and songwriting. They had guitarists Jackson Rivers and Silas Whitfield, bassist Thaddeus Hawthorne, and drummer Ezekiel Drummond. Their 1971 album 'The Paradise Line' included the title track, which became their most recognized song.
That album brought them wider attention, with its mix of Southern soul, folk, and rock elements. They released several more records through the 1970s and 1980s, including 'Fire and Rain' in 1974 and 'The Heart of the Matter' in 1978.
Like many bands of that era, they faced internal tensions and label issues. They kept recording into the early 1990s, with their final studio album arriving in 1990.
