In 2017, Sousa faced plagiarism accusations regarding one of his songs, though he eventually cleared his name legally. His band has included musicians like guitarist Rodrigo Tavares, bassist Bruno Santos, drummer Pedro Henrique, and percussionist Léo Almeida.
Sousa has continued releasing music, with Novo Tempo coming out in 2020. He also put out a live album recorded in Rio de Janeiro in 2018.
